Governor Gopalkrishna Gandhi expresses shock at explosion
Kolkata, Nov 2 (UNI) West Bengal Governor Gopalkrishna Gandhi today expressed shock over a landmine explosion along the road on which the convoys of Chief Minsiter Buddhadeb Bhattacahrjee and Union Ministe Ram Vilas Paswan and others were going in West Medinipur earlier in the day.
Mr Gandhi in a statment from Delhi has also conveyed his relief over the fact that no harm came to them and other dignitaries.
He was also saddened by the injuries sustained by men on duty and wished them speedy recovery.
The Governor said the latest incident was yet another pointer to the security hazards of present time.
He said the state's commitment to all-rould peaceful progress will not be thwarted by such act of senseless violence.
Mr Governor was now in an official visit to New Delhi.
