Former President advises student community to work hard
Tiruchirapalli, Nov 2 (UNI) Former President A P J Abdul Kalam today called upon the student community to adopt four vital aspects-- aim in life, acquiring knowledge, working hard with honesty and perseverance in order to have a better future and to help the nation become a developed country by 2020.
Delivering his special address on ''Young Minds: shaping future of India'', organised by CII Trichy zone here, Dr Kalam said students community should understand that the knowledge had three components-- creativity, courage and righteousness and accordingly they should improve their knowledge.
Recalling his yestrday's visit to the Indian Deep Space Network and the giant antenna at Byalalu village near Bangalore, he said every Indian should be proud of the Chandrayaan I, the country's first moon mission programme taken up by ISRO.
Stating that the images captured by the spacecraft were of high resolution, he said November 8 would be the next milestone for the mission as on that day Chandrayaan would leave the earth gravity and enter the moon's orbit.
Later, he distributed light-weight callipers to 75 people, including 36 women, at a function and lauded the services of Ministry of Defence and Nizam's Institute of Medical Science, Hyderabad and the city based GVN hospital and others for their noble gesture towards the welfare of physically challenged persons.
