New Delhi, Nov 2 (UNI) The BCCI today named Mahendra Singh Dhoni as captain of the Indian team for the fourth and final Test which begins in Nagpur on November 6.
At a press conference here, Chief Selector Krishnamchari Srikkanth said, ''Mahendra Singh Dhoni will captain the Indian team in the Nagpur Test,'' and is therefore expected to take over the mantle from Anil Kumble in the longer version of the game.
In the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy, India is leading the four-match Test series 1-0 and it was in the second Test at Mohali under Dhoni's captainship that the home team registered a massive 320-run victory against Australia.
Srikkanth further added that Dhoni will also lead the Indian team in the seven-match ODI series against England later this month and a decision will be taken on the two-Test series against England will also be taken in due course of time.
