BJP promises full statehood for Delhi
New Delhi, Nov 2 (UNI) BJP chief ministerial candidate Vijay Kumar Malhotra today said his party will give full statehood to Delhi if it comes to power in the November 29 Delhi Assembly elections.
Blaming the Congress for false claims and corrupt policies, Mr Malhotra said in a statement that even after a decade, Congress could not implement its promise of giving Delhi full statehood ''which we will do after coming to power.'' He said they have prepared a chargesheet highlighting the illegal activities of the Shiela Dikshit Govt which will be circulated to all soon.
Mr Malhotra added that his Government will ensure all illegal contracts by the previous Congress regime relating to water, electricity and other civic amenities will be replaced by people-friendly programmes and order an inquiry into the corruption angle in floating of tenders.
