Hyderabad, Nov 2 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Finance Minister and newly appointed State Congress Campaign Commiteee Chairman K Rosaiah today claimed that the party would come to power in the next elections as the people had reposed faith on the ruling Congerss government for implementing various welfare schemes.
Addressing a press conference after attending the office bearers meeting at Gandhi Bhavan here, he said the people had faith on the Congress party in view of the government's several welfare and developmental schemes being initiated during the last four-and-half years.
Asked about the party's future poll alliances with other political parties in veiw of the upcoming elections in next year, he said ''the Congress is a national party with a long history of 123 years. The party had its ideology, principles and policies. If any party comes forward an alliance, the party will welcome it.'' He alleged that the Opposition parties, including BJP, CPI and CPI(M), were trying to dislodge the Congress party from the power in the state.
He alleged that the Left parties and BJP, who had given up their ideology, were joining hands with the regionl parties like TDP to fight against the Congress in the state.
Asked about the recently formed Praja Rajyam Party (PRP), launched by actor-politiican Chiranjeevi, he said ''as of now the PRP is a regional party. I cannot say anything about the newly formed party. The fate of the party will be known after the elections only.'' UNI BR DS 1621
