New Delhi, Nov 1 (UNI) Differences in the Delhi BJP unit on the distribution of tickets to the probables in the Delhi Assembly poll came to the fore today, when former Union Minister Vijay Goel and former BJP Delhi unit President O P Kohli walked out of the Delhi Pradesh BJP Election Committee meeting here.
BJP's chief ministerial candidate Vijay Kumar Malhotra and Delhi BJP Chief Harsh Vardhan were present in the meeting being held at the Pandit Pant Marg Office of the party. As Mr Goel and Mr Kohli left the place, their supporters created a ruckus and raised slogans to protest against the manner in which tickets were being distributed.
Sources said both Mr Goel and Mr Kohli were not happy as their candidates were not given tickets as the Delhi Pradesh Election Committee finalised nominees for 61 of the 70 seats, which included four seats spared for the Akali Dal.
The party, however, could not decide the candidature for nine seats, which were Lakshmi Nagar, Seelampur, Mustafabad, Burari, Nangloi, Sadar, Patparganj, Nazafgarh and Trilok Puri.
The party's Central Election Committee, meanwhile, is meeting later in the day to discuss the names of the candidates sent to it by the Delhi unit.
