Kathmandu, Nov 1 (UNI) UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon held talks with the Nepal President and leaders of different political parties this morning.
During the meeting with President Ram Baran Yadav, Mr Ban appreciated the role played by Nepalese forces in the peace keeping mission worldwide even as he talked further on how the same can be strengthened and extended.
Mr Ban held talks with former prime minister and president of Nepali Congress Girija Prasad Koirala and discussed issues like integration of the Army and the role of the United Nations Mission in Nepal.
The Secretary General, who arrived here on a two-day visit yesterday, discussed the peace process with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and urged him to consider sending Nepali peacekeepers to the strife-torn Somalia and Chad.
