Port Blair, Nov 1 (UNI) Three people, including a school teacher, were handed over to the police by residents of a remote Andaman village for stealing Tsunami Relief materials.
The miscreants were nabbed by ladies of Hut Bay Island of South Andaman, while they were trying to slip away with tsunami relief materials, loaded in a Mahindra Cargo Jeep yesterday.
Police today recovered huge amount of tsunami relief materials, mostly ration items, after conducting series of raids in two different places of Hut Bay, where the said teacher, who is also the in charge of a tsunami relief camp, had stocked the materials illegally for sale.
Nirodh Bala, the teacher, Sanjeev Kumar Halder, a tsunami material supplier of Pavan Trading and the Jeep Driver William Ekka were held under section 379/411 IPC.
