Thane, Nov 1 (UNI) Maharashtra Revenue Minister Narayan Rane has once again stressed on the need for Industries in the state to give 80 per cent of its jobs to youths from Maharashtra.
The demand was reiterated by Mr Rane yesterday, during his visit to the city to inaugurate the Malvani Jatrotsav, an annual festival of those from Malvan.
He also said such demands as jobs for the ''sons of soil'' should be put forward using democratic means and not through violence or destruction of national property.
Speaking on the Jatrotsav, Mr Rane said the event not only provides entertainment, but is also an excellent business opportunity for traders from Konkan and Malvan.
The festival generates a turnover of over Rs 8 crore, he added.
