Om Creations, Dnyanprasarak post easy wins

Mumbai, Nov 1 (UNI) Om Creations (Khar) and Dnyanprasarak defeated Ankush Garments and Borosil respectively in the institutional division of the 27th Mumbai Suburban District Kabaddi Tournament being held in Vile Parle here today.

Om defeated Ankush 48-20 with the duo of Manoj Jagtap and Swapnil More creating havoc in the opposition ranks. Dnyanprasarak got the better of Borosil 35-19 with Ajay Shinde leading the attacks and Navnath Bacche providing stability and defence.

The 13 day event has attracted 500 teams from the suburbs and includes the junior and sub junior events which serve as the selection trials for selecting the district teams for the state championships and state level open tournaments.

In the ''A'' division, Shoor Sambhaji beat Parle Sports Club 21-13, Chembur Kreeda Kendra beat Sanmitra (Ghatkopar) 30-9, while in group ''B'' Gaondevi (Borivli) snatched a narrow 23-20 won over Ajinkya Kreeda Mandal, Andheri. Rajendra Dange, Hanumant Dengle played well for the winners, while Abhay Pavaskar and Naresh Shelar's efforts went in vain for the losers.

In other first round matches of the same division Rajesh Singh and Govind Kosne helped Amar Kreeda Mandal beat Vijay Nagar Sports Club 42-28, while Vijay Durg beat Mauli 46-28 as Chetan Patil and Abhishek Desai put up a good show in attack and defence respectively.
