Maruti Suzuki sales dip 7.1% at 64,490 units in Oct
New Delhi, Nov 1 (UNI) Country's largest car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki today said its sales in October decreased 7.1 per cent to 64,490 units, against 69,415 units sold in the same month previous year.
The domestic sales decreased eight per cent to 59,127 units in October 2008 compared with 64,258 units in the corresponding month a year ago.
However, exports grew four per cent to 5,363 units from 5,157 units in the same month last year.
The company sold 3,307 units of M800 from 4,477 units in October last year, registering a dip of 26.1 per cent.
The sales of A2 segment, which includes Alto, Wagon R, Zen and Swift, dipped 7.7 per cent to 43,434 units from 47077 units sold in October last year, while sales of A3 segment , comprising SX4, Esteem and Dzire increased 29.6 per cent to 5,412 units from 4,177 units.
The total passenger car sales dipped 8.30 per cent to 58,515 units, from 63,841 units last year. Sales in multi-utility vehicle segment ,comprising Gypsy and Vitara, surged 46 per cent to 612 units from 417 units.
