Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 1 (UNI) The CPI(M)-led Left Democratic Front (LDF) in Kerala will organise agitations against the anti-people policies of the Congress-led UPA government, its Convenor Vaikom Viswam said today.
Talking to reporters after the LDF meeting here, he said the party's district committees would be convened on November 10, 11, 12 and 14 to chalk out the future course of agitation.
Mr Viswam claimed that it was because of the interference by the Left parties in the Centre's policies, that global economic crisis had not affected the country seriously.
He alleged that because of the Centre's wrong policies, the price of agricultural produce had come down and the ongoing global economic crisis would effect the state's economy.
Pointing out that the crude oil price had come down considerably in the world market, he urged the Centre to reduce the price of petroleum products.
The LDF government would take measures to provide the house to homeless people in the state, he said, adding, projects in this regard would be prepared with the cooperation of local bodies.
The government would also continue the process of providing land to the landless adivasis, he added.
