Hudson's family funeral set for November 3

Washington, November 1 : A private memorial service for actress Jennifer Hudson's slain family has been set in Chicago, Illinois on November 3.

The 'American Idol' runner up and her family have launched 'The Hudson-King Foundation for Families of Slain Victims' to look after the needs of families who have lost their loved ones to a brutal crime.

The 'Dreamgirls' star has requested her fans to make donations, in place of spending on flowers, to the newly formed domestic violence organisation, reports Contactmusic.

The Oscar winning-actress' mother and brother were found shot dead on October 24 in their Chicago residence while her seven-year-old nephew, who went missing after the incident, too had died of multiple gunshot wounds when his body was found three days later in the rear seat of a SUV.

The officials had arrested prime suspect William Balfour, the estranged husband of the singer's sister, though he is yet be charged for the slayings.
