New Delhi, Nov 1 (UNI) Virender Sehwag claimed his maiden five-wicket haul as Australia rode on Michael Clarke's (112) century to reach 577 all out and the home team was leading by 79 runs at the end of the fourth day of the third Test here today.

At stumps, India was 43 for the loss of two wickets and first innings' double centurion Gautam Gambhir (21) was batting with Rahul Dravid (5) after Sehwag (16) and night watchman Ishant Sharma (1) were dismissed cheapely.

Brett Lee removed Sehwag for the second time in the match as a full length delivery that nipped back a little found the opener's inside edge to dislodge his stumps. Sehwag had two hits to fence in his half-an-hour stay at the wicket, while India's ploy to send Ishant as nightwatchman backfired.

Ishant was done in by a rising delivery from Stuart Clark and Ricky Ponting completed an easy catch. While Lee had figure of one for 19, Clark also ended the day with a wicket to his name.

Earlier, Sehwag continued his splendid run with the bowl and cleaned up Cameron White (44) to grab his first five-wicket haul and also broke the 106-run seventh-wicket stand between White and Clarke.

The local lad could have got his fifth wicket much earlier had VVS Laxman and Amit Mishra not dropped the dollies that came their way.

Clarke's pain-staking century must have hurt the Indians who could have seen him back in the hunt long a lot earlier. But the right-hander finally fell prey to Amit Mishra who had earlier himself dropped the Australian vice-captain when he was on 94.

Clarke's 112 came off 253 balls with six fours and a six. The batsman did look in trouble most of the times against the slow bowlers but was ready to use his feat against the spinners which brought his dismissal as well.

Kumble ran through the Australian lower-order and struck twice to finish the Australian innings on 577 as he caught Mitchell Johnson (15) off his own bolwing.

For Australia, Clarke contributed heavily after the top-order gave him a solid platform with Ricky Ponting (87), Matthew Hayden (83), Simon Katich (64) and Michael Hussey (54) all getting useful half centuries for their team.
