Churu DEO, Dausa SP removed after EC visit

Jaipur, Nov 1 (UNI) Close on heels of the Election Commission's visit, here District Collector and District Electoral Officer Churu Arjun Ram Meghwal and Dausa District Superintendent of Police K Bahadur Singh Kapoor have been removed from their respective posts.

Mr Meghwal has been transferred to Rajasthan Small Industries Corporation(RAJSICO) Jaipur to work as Managing Director while Ajitabh Sharma, presently working as Director, Elementary Education Bikaner, has been sent to succeed Mr Meghwal as District Collector and District Electoral Officer Churu.

Dausa SP Mr Kapoor has been transferred to CID(Crime Branch) Jaipur whereas Jose Mohan Commandant 4th Battalion RAC Jaipur has been transferred as SP Dausa.

District Supply Officer(DSO) Jaipur Vasudev Sharma and Jaipur Zila Parishad Additional Chief Executive Officer(ACEO) DS Dhillon have also been removed from their posts. Abha Jain and Nalini Katotia will work as Jaipur DSO and ACEO Jaipur Zila Parishad respectively. Mr Sharma and Mr Dhillon have been kept awaiting posting orders(APO).

Besides, RAS Officer Ganpat Chitara working as Assistant Collector and Executive Magistrate Baytu(Barmer) has also been transferred as Land Acquisition Officer in Rajasthan State Mines and Minerals Limited Barmer.

Transfer orders of the above officers, who are directly linked with election process for December 4 Assembly polls, were issued this afternoon.

Since the model code of conduct ahead of the assembly polls has already been enforced in the state, the Election Commission had imposed a blanket ban on transfers of state employees.

However, there are reports that these transfers had been ordered after certain observations made by the Election Commission during review meetings here yesterday.

The Commission led by Chief Election Commissioner N Gopalaswami arrived here yesterday to review administrative poll preparedness and left Jaipur this morning.
