BJP state unit to finalise candidates list for LS polls
Udupi, Nov 1 (UNI) Karnataka BJP president and Mangalore MP D V Sadananda Gowda today said selection of party candidates in the first list for Parliamentary elections from the state was expected to be finalised by November 15.
Addressing a press conference, Mr Gowda, who was here to attend the office bearers meeting of Udupi district unit said the party the party's preliminary work for the coming elections has already been completed in 20 Lok Sabha constituencies. Work in the remaining eight constituencies would be completed in ten days time.
The selection of candidates would be made on the proposals made by the district units of the party, he said, adding the party would contest on all Lok Sabha seats from the state and was confident of winning them.
Replying to a query whether he would be seeking re-election from Mangalore constituency, Mr Gowda said it was left to the recommendations of the district unit of the party rather than taking any decision by himself.
''Though I am the state party chief, it was left to the decision of the district unit of the party on his selection,'' he said.
