National Rally third leg starts on Nov 7

Coimbatore, Oct 31 (UNI) Coimbatore Auto Sports Club would organise the third round of the 'IMG Rally of Coimbatore 2008' under the auspices of the Federation of Motor Sports Club of India (FMSCI) as part of the Indian National Rally championship for bikes, here on November 7 and 8.

Talking to newspersons here, Clerk of the course D Ramkumar said, ''We want the event to be a benchmark for events around the country,'' he added.

Mr Ramkumar said security would be been strengthened and efforts were taken to provide adequate facilities to the spectators. About 35 top-riders were expected to participate in the rally, which is restricted to four-stroke motorcycles up to 260 cc.

Arrangements were also made to conduct a event, concurrently for local riders with two-stroke bikes and 20 riders were expected to participate in it, he added.

The riders will ride through special stages Textool 12.43 kms and Premier 16.65 kms thrice in the same direction. The total distance covered will be 115.23 kms, of which 87.24 kms will be treated as special stages, he said.
