Meghalaya student killed in Assam blasts

Shillong, Oct 31 (UNI) The serial blasts in Assam have claimed the life of a student from Meghalaya, who died at Pan Bazaar.

Dometrust Syntem (20), who was pursuing a bachelor degree in science and specialising in Geology at Pragjyotish College, was with his friend Pitolo T Yetho, who was a resident of Dimapur in Nagaland.

Syntem hails from Mooralong locality of Jowai, the district headquarters of Jaintia Hills.

According to his relatives, Dometrust was with Yetho and they were on their way back to hostel - Lewis Memorial hostel - when the explosion occurred.

Both of them died in the blast.

The body of Syntem was identified by the relatives through his wallet at the GMC morgue today.

Meanwhile, the bodies of Syntem and Yetho were taken to their respective villages for the last funeral rites.
