K'taka: Mngt to take action over shooting episode

Mangalore, Oct 31: The management of A B Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences, Derlakatte near here has decided to take stern action against Kishore George, a MDS student of the Institute for accidentally shooting at himself with his licensed pistol at the campus on October 29.

A meeting of the teaching faculty of the Institute held yesterday unanimously supported the management's move to take stern action against Kishore for causing damage to the reputation of the Institute.

However, the implementation of penal action had been deferred for the time being as the student was still under intensive care.

Meanwhile sources said that Kishore was recuperating in a private hospital here.

After an operation was conducted on him on Wednesday that lasted over five hours, the bullet found lodged close to his liver, was removed by the doctors.

Kishore is recovering in the intensive care unit of the hospital.

The sources said that Kishore drove swanky cars and showed off his pistol to his peers and juniors and led a luxurious life. Deputy Commissioner M Maheshwar Rao had sought more details on the incident from the police.
