Mahindra United to clash against Vasco tomorrow

By Staff

Margao, Oct 31 (UNI) A well-balanced Mahindra United have a chance of scoring full points when they take on newly-promoted and bottom placed Vasco Sports club in the ONGC I League championship match, to be played here at Nehru Stadium tomorrow.

Both the teams have been inconsistent in their performance so far, and hence need win to improve their points tally for victory.

Mahindra are presently with three points from a win against JCT as they lost four out of five matches. While Vasco is with only one points from a draw match against JCT and equal defeats out of the five outings.

Mahindra though looks formidable on papers, their main concern is the form of their strikers Mohammed Rafi and Edeh Chidi, who have not found their rhythm in the league so far.

Mahindra Coach Derrick Pereira said, ''We are at precarious position with only three points and have to take more burden.

Midfield and forward line should combine well and bang the target and win every match against our opponents to stay in the contest.'' On the other end, Vasco will have to pull up their socks and play more aggressive game to keep their hope alive in the Championship, as heavily depend on their Uzbekistan forwards Ravshan Teshabnev and Angle D' Souza and Sherzod Nazarov and Minino Fernandes in the middle.
