New Delhi, Oct 31 (UNI) Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss has written to Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel for removal of advertisements of alcoholic drinks on display at various airports of the country, including the Delhi Airport.

In a letter to the Civil Aviation Minister earlier, Dr Ramadoss had expressed his disappointment over the ''grandiose display inside airports in various cities throughout the country, aiming to advertise alcoholic drinks with famous brand names'' in the form of large sized hoardings, vinyl/digital boards and banners.

Citing various scientific and technical studies, the Health Minister had requested Mr Patel to issue instructions to the concerned authorities, as advertisements of alcoholic drinks are already legally banned in electronic and print media.

However, Dr Ramadoss has found that the hoardings and advertisements are still on display at various airports, including the Delhi Airport.

The Health Minister today instructed authorities in the ministry to take up the issue with the relevant agencies in the Civil Aviation Ministry.
