Dasmunsi's condition remains same; still on life support
New Delhi, Oct 31 (UNI) Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi today continued to remain on a life support system, 11 days after he was shifted from the All India Institute for Medical Sciences to the Apollo hospital, hospital sources said.
''The medical condition of Mr Dasmunsi remains the same and he continues to be on life support,'' said a spokesperson for the Apollo hospital, where Mr Dasmunsi was shifted on October 20 from AIIMS.
Since last Monday, when doctors at the Apollo hospital described Mr Dasmunsi as "critical", the condition of the Union Minister has remained the same.
He was admitted to AIIMS on October 13, after suffering a complete left ventricular failure and was shifted to the Indraprastha Apollo hospital a week later.
Earlier, he had suffered a heart attack on July 6 while on way to Kolkata from Malda after attending a meeting.
Mr Dasmunsi had undergone an angioplasty and stenting of two coronary arteries in a hospital in Kolkata. He also has a history of diabetes and hypertension.
