Lucknow, Oct 31 (UNI) The Communist Party of India (Marxist Lenninist) today carried out a state-wide agitation against the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) for the recent attacks on north Indians.
The CPI(ML) activists burnt the Vilasrao Deshmukh led-Maharashtra government in effigy and also ranted anti-slogans over its failure to stop the increasing MNS attacks, party sources said.
The protestors assembled at the party units and handed a memorandum addressing President Pratibha Devisingh Patil, seeking a ban upon the Raj Thackeray led-MNS and Bal Thackeray led-Shiv Sena for hitting of the integrity of the country.
In Lucknow, the CPI (ML) activists gathered in front of Vidhan Sabha and set afire the effigy of the Maharashtra government, alleging that both the Congress led-governments at the Centre and Maharashtra were having a soft attitude towards the MNS and the Shiv Sena.
In Allahabad, the party activists paid tributes to the persons, who fell victim to the MNS North Indian hate attitude, by keeping a silence for two minutes.
The party has also criticised the police atrocities upon the youth from Azamgarh and associated with the Human Rights orgainsation. The STF held them for interrogation from Utsarg Express on Thursday last and later booked them on fake cases, CPI (ML) state unit secretary Sudhakar Yadav said.
Ms Mayawati was establishing an 'a tank raj' in the state, he alleged demanding, a high level probe into the matter.
