CPI demands judicial probe against Diwakar Reddy
Hyderabad, Oct 31 (UNI) Pressing for a judicial inquiry into the corruption charges levelled against Panchayat Raj Minister J C Diwakar Reddy by Small Scale Industries Minister G Surya Rao, the Communist Party of India in Andhra Pradesh today demanded dropping of the two ministers till the probe was completed.
Addressing a press conference here, CPI State Secretary K Narayana alleged as ''bogus'' the so-called clean chit given by a group of ministers, headed by Finance Minister K Rosaiah, who went into the charges.
''It is not at all an internal matter of the Congress Government but concerned the people of the state,'' he opined.
Mr Rao had alleged that Mr Reddy allegedly took bribe from a land syndicate in East Godavari district.
Denying the Congress's allegation that the CPI was trying to bring together all opposition parties on a common platform, giving a go-by to principles, to defeat the ruling party by hook or crook, he said on what ideological basis, the Congress had ties with the Left parties on one hand and the TRS on the other in 2004 to defeat the TDP.
The Congress talk only exposed its ''fear'' of losing the elections as major opposition parties were working to come together to ''oust'' the ''anti-people'' Rajasekhara Reddy Government from power, he contended.
