Chavan renominated from Budhni, 28 MLAs dropped

New Delhi, Oct 31 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has been renominated to contest from Budhni assembly constituency along with other 46 sitting MLAs as the party finalised 115 candidates for the coming Assembly elections.

Twenty-eight sitting MLAs, including a Minister, have been dropped in view of the changes effected by the delimitation of constituencies, Secretary of BJP Central Election Committee, Ananth Kumar told newspersons today after the meeting.

Mr Narayan Kabir Panthi, a minister in the Shivraj Singh Chauhan ministry has been denied renomination from Naryawali-SC. Mayor of Sagar Pradeep Laria will contest in his place from the constituency.

The party which had won 173 seats out of 230 constituencies in the 2003 Assembly elections now has a strength of 166 MLAs.

The list includes 14 women, 19 OBC, 20 SCs and 33 ST candidates.
