Brother of witness into Krishnanand Rai murder case shot dead

Ghazipur, Oct 31 (UNI) Sumit Rai, brother of a witness into the infamous Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Krishnandnand Rai murder case, was shot dead in Bhawarkol area here today.

Three unidentified assailants opened fire at Sumit, when he was going somewhere, near Sherpur village. His gunner also sustained bullet wounds in the incident, police said.

Sumit was the brother of Kallu Rai, who was a witness into the BJP MLA murder case and murdered a couple of years ago.

MLA from Mau Mukhtar Ansari was arrested along with his supporters over Kallu's killing, in which Sumit was one of the wintesses, police added.
