Patna,Oct 31 (UNI)People in Bihar today joined the rest of the nation in paying rich tributes to former Prime minister Indira Gandhi on her 24th death anniversary through various programmes.
In one of the main programmes at Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Science at Shekhpura here, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, along with several of his cabinet colleagues and a large number of Pradesh Congress leaders, including Former Chief Minister Jagannath Mishra and party spokesman Prem Chandra Mishra, garlanded the statue and paid tributes to the great leader.
All of them also recalled her great contribution in the country's political arena.
Similar programmes were also organised at the Pradesh Congress headquarters at Sadaquast Ashram here, where the BPCC President and many other party leaders, including former ministers, MPs and MLAs paid rich tributes to the former Prime Minister who was assasinated on this day 24 years ago.
They also garlanded her statue as a mark of respect.
Reports of similar observance of the day was pouring in from all district headquarters and other places in Bihar where a large number of people participated and paid their tributes.
