Mumbai, Oct 30: An exhibition of ''Lyrical Voices of Sublime Nature'', a collection of works by eminent artist Prem Singh, is being held at the Jehangir Art Gallery here.
The exhibition, which will be open till November four, was launched by Bollywood director Rakeysh Om Prakash Mehra yesterday.
''Mr Singh's work is a celebration of his imagination and a part of his journey as an artist. Although not well versed in painting, I know that cinema as an art is a derivative of painting and I have derived a different level of satisfaction from all kinds of art forms,'' Mr Mehra said.
He has taken inspiration from the sublimity of nature's elements and has translated them using oil on canvas to capture the innocence and transitory character of nature in free flowing shapes and colours.
Mr Singh, who opined that though art was slowly being appreciated even in small towns, Mumbai remains ahead of any other city, including Delhi, said, ''I'm trying to explore the myth and capture nature's abstract voices that one encounters in life. This collection is the fruit of my efforts in solitude and every work is a do or die battle in trying to bring out the truth.''
