JNTU to start new PG courses in AP
Kakinada, Oct 30 (UNI) The newly created Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University(JNTU) at Kakinada would start five new PG courses- M Tech IT, M Pharm two special courses, MTech CSE and MTech Nuclear engineering during the academic year.
Talking to newspersons here today, the Vice-Chancellor Allam Apparao said the University's major thrust was on multi- disciplinary, multi-institutional research, enlisting the support of various funding agencies, including those in abroad. The research activity would be increased shortly, involving the corporate companies such as Reliance and Gujarat Petroleum Corporation(GPC), he added.
Prof Apparao said the GPC had approached the University to undertake research for the companies involved in hydro-carbon exploration in Krishna Godavari basin.
He said the idea was to train the personnel for the Industry and thereby paving way for development of the region. The University modernisation second phase programme under the 'World Bank' aid would commence from June next year with an outlay of Rs 20 crore, he added.
The Vice-Chancellor said JNTU would be developed as a renowned institution. In order to bridge the gap between the University colleges and the affiliated colleges in ensuring quality education, expertise were sought in evolving strategic planning, he added.
