India, Nepal to discuss cross-border crime
New Delhi, Oct 30: India and Nepal will discuss increasing cooperation to tackle terrorism, cross-border crimes, security and border management at the Home Secretary-level talks, beginning from Friday, Oct 31. At the two-day talks, the two sides will discuss a broad range of issues relating, inter-alia, to security, border management and training and capacity-building of officials/police in Nepal.
Effective cooperation for combating terrorist activities and trans-border crimes will be high on the agenda. The Indian Delegation will be led by Home Secretary Madhukar Gupta and the Nepalese delegation by their Home Secretary Govinda Prasad Kusum. This will be the first Home Secretary-level talks after the installation of the new democratic Government in Nepal.
The two sides will also review the progress in implementing the decisions arrived at the last Home Secretary-level talks held on September 25-26, 2007 in Kathmandu.
