HP demands enhancement of budget for border regions
Shimla, Oct 30 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal said that his government has asked the union government to enhance the budget for border area development programme.
Addressing a public meeting at Chango in Hangrang valley of Kinnaur distrit today, he said that Rs 13 crore would be spent for construction of Leo- bye pass road, which would connect Spiti valley to Kinnaur district.
Chief Minister assured to take up with BSNL the issue of providing better communication facilities in Hangrang valley. He said that the solar faciltiy would be installed at the Chango telephone exchange.
Prof Dhumal also said that 100 docotors had been appointed for tribal and far flungs areas to provide better and specialised health facilties.
He also said that government had released funds for construction of Chango Gompa road and construction work for 72 kms new roads were being undertaken in the area besides metalling of 30 kms new roads.
He also said that 10 bridges would be constructed during this year in Kinnaur.
