Chennai, Oct 30: J Jayalalithaa, the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) supremo and former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on Wednesday, Oct 29 received a death threat from the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE). This is not the first time Jaya was under LTTE radar.
A letter sent by pro-LTTE World Tamil Race Protection Forum read like this,"We'll not hesitate to kill anyone who opposes the LTTE. You'll meet the same fate as Benazir Bhutto. Do not challenge the Tamil race. Do not play with fire, you will burn to death,". The letter warns Jaya to stop her tirade against LTTE or she will face a death like that of former Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.
India and Pakistan faced incidents of suicide bombings when Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated by LTTE during a rally at Sri Perumbudur on May 21, 1991 and when Pakistan People's Party leader Benazir Bhutto was assassinated during a political rally on Dec 27, 2007.
