Chiru promises to solve weavers' problems if voted to power
Hyderabad, Oct 30 (UNI) The founder President of Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) Chiranjeevi today assured that he would solve the problems of weavers in Sircilla if his party was voted to power in the next elections.
Addressing the public at various places during second phase of his 'Praja Ankita Yatra' (tour programe) at Sircilla in Karimnagar district, he alleged that the successive governments in the state had not bothered about the welfare of the weavers in Sircilla.
He assured that he would protect the lives of the weavers, who were committing suicide by opening counselling centres in Sircilla and other areas.
He said his party would provide nutritious food for the aged weavers if his party came to power.
The actor-turned-politician said the committee, appointed by the party to find out the reasons for the suicides, has submitted its report which blamed the government's apathy towards weavers community for the suicides.
He said as per the committee's suggestion, his party would provide financial help for the family members of the weavers, who committed suicides, as soon as it comes to power. He said special insurance scheme would be launched for the weavers and the insurance premium would be borne by the party, if voted to power.
He claimed that his party would come to power in the next elections with the support of the people to fulfill his promises.
As per the tour programme, he would visit Karimnagar, Warangal and Khammam districts during the nine-day tour. During his tour, he would interact with the people and address public meetings to seek public support for his party.
The tour programme would conclude at Kothagudem in Khammam district on November 7.
Chiranjeevi had already visited the North coastal Andhra districts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam from October 8 but cancelled further engagements on October 16, cutting short his visit due to throat problem.
