Indore, Oct 30 (UNI) The former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Uma Bharti-led Bharatiya Jan Shakti has made an offer to Malegaon blast accused Pragya Singh Thakur alias Sadhvi Purna Chetnanand Giri, who is under arrest, that she should contest the state's November 27 Assembly polls under the BJS banner.
BJS secretary Inder Prajapat had a discussion with sadhvi's advocate and submitted the proposal but no indication from the sadhvi was received so far.
''A related discussion has taken place with Ms Bharti. The BJS has even offered to provide legal assistance to the sadhvi. The party wishes to field her against some ruling Bharatiya Janata Party stalwart,'' BJS media in-charge Mohan Narwaria said here today.
When asked about the offer, BJS state spokesman and ex-MLA Narendra Birthare denied any knowledge. ''Any ticket-linked proposal is deliberated on by the party's Election Committee,'' he told UNI over telephone.
