Army officer shifted to Mumbai for interaction
New Delhi, Oct 30 (UNI) An army officer, against whom inputs of possible linkages with some suspects in Malegaon blasts have come to light, has been shifted to Mumbai to facilitate interactions with the Maharashtra Police, an Indian Army spokesperson said.
In a statement issued here, the Army spokesperson said,''in the course of investigations by the Maharashtra police in the Malegaon blasts, some inputs of possible linkages of a serving Army officer with other suspects have come to light. Accordingly, the police have, at this stage, sought to interact with the concerned officer and seek clarifications from him so as to proceed with further investigations.
While no formal application has been recieved from the police authorities, the Army headquarters have decided to extend full cooperation and facilitate interaction of the officer with the concerned investigating officials of the police. The officer has been moved to Mumbai to facilitate interaction at a mutually convenient date,'' the Army spokesperson said.
The Army said further action would be taken as necessitated based upon the interaction and clarifications as planned.
''The Army HQ will continue to provide all assistance to the investigating agency, as and when required by them,''the statement by the Army said.
