VHP workers stir against Minister's land deal
Kakinada, Oct 29 (UNI) The workers of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, the Hindu Jagarana Samithi and the BJP today staged a demonstration in front of the Joint Commisisoner Endowments' office here, demanding return of 75 per cent of Endowment Departments land, acquired by Minister for small scale Industries Gollapalli Suryrao in Eethakota village allegedly by dubious methods.
They alleged that the costly endowments land situated along the national highway on the outskirts of Ravulpalem, was given to the Minister on his wife's name at a throw away price of Rs 10 lakh as against Rs 2 crore, the current market rate.
It was alleged that the auction was conducted clandestinely at the Ministers' college campus without the knoweldge of the village Sarpanch and the donor who donated the land to the local temple few years ago.
T Gavaraiah secretary of the Hindu Jagarana Samithi, who led the protest along with the Eethakota village sarpanch and the land donor, told mediapersons that their stir would continue till the land was restored back to the Endowments Department.
He said the Joint Commissioner, who received a representation from them, had assured us of a detailed inquiry into the land deal and would take action against the erring.
