Kolhapur, Oct 29 (UNI) Some political parties and social organisations in the city have decided to continue their agitation, under banner of the 'Bharatiya Lok Andolan', to oppose 'Vishwashanti (world peace) mahayagnya' to be held at 'Gandhi maidan' here on November two.
CPI senior leader Govind Pansare, peasents and workers party (PWP) leader Prof N D Patil, NCP MP Sadashivrao Mandlik, CPI-M leader Chandrakant Yadav and Shrimant Shahu Maharaj, descendant of Rajarashi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj said that to hold such a yagnya in a progressive city like Kolhapur is not correct.
They were addressing a public meeting at city's bindu chowk here this evening.
They will go ahead with their agitation plan to oppose the yagnyna as it does not have any scientific background.
The mahayagnya is being organised by 'Maa Vardayini trust'.
Meanwhile BJP, Shiv Sena, Hindutvawadi Sangatanas are supporting the mahayagna.
