New Delhi, Oct 29 (UNI) His onfield confronations with Simon Katich and Shane Watson may have revived memories of India's ill-tempered tour to Australia last summer, but Gautam Gambhir is not ready to read too much into them.

Gambhir, who scored an unbeaten 149 on the opening day of the third Test, was targetted for some special sledging by the Australians. But the Delhi lad was undaunted and gave back as good as he got.

He elbowed Australian pacer Shane Watson while taking a run and also had a confrontation with Simon Katich. But Gambhir just shrugged off these incidents.

''When you play international cricket, these things happen.

Everyone is playing for their countries and there is a lot of passion and intensity on the field,'' Gambhir told mediapersons at the end of the day's play.

Asked about his heated exchange with Katich, Gambhir said it was just an accident and was not intentional.

''It was not deliberate. It just happened. These things keep happening in international cricket,'' he insisted.

The 27-year-old, however, admitted that the Australians resorted to heavy sledging and were trying to get under the skin of the Indians.

BCCI media committee member (north) GS Walia was also dismisive of the incidents.

''We have not lodged an official complaint. It is upto the umpires to decide on the future course of action,'' he said.
