Nanded, Oct 29 (UNI) The authorities of Nanded-Waghala Municipal Corporation have appointed 3,338 more employees to provide various facilities for devotees of Guru Gobind Singhji, who are visiting the city to take part in the ongoing tercentenary celebrations of Guru-da-Gaddi.
The new recruits will render the services of cleaning, water supply, drainage, management of the ghats, provision of medical aids, fire fighting operations, spreading of insecticide to control malaria and testing of water for its potability among others.
The work of cleaning has been assigned to 2,092 employees. They will be aided by 65 trucks, 30 tractors and 177 rickshaws. For water supply, 295 employees have been deployed along with 69 tankers. To avoid blockage of the drainage lines, the corporation has mobilised two gulpers and two jetting machines.
The Corporation has made available five boats at the ghats for the easy movement of the devotees. For medical assistance, three ambulances, including one fitted with cardiac equipment, have been mobilised along with 66 medical officers and 280 assistants. To meet any emergency like fire, 13 fire tenders and seven water tankers and 185 firemen have been deployed.
