Kolkata, Oct 29 (UNI) West Bengal Congress Legislature party leader Manas Bhunia today accused the CPI (M) of unleashing a ''reign of terror'' on the Opposition at Salboni in East Midnapore, where the Jindal Group were setting up a steel plant.
''Minister of Steel and Fertiliser Ramvilas Paswan will inaugurate the Rs 35,000 crore plant on November 2 at Salbani, but the CPI(M)'s local leaders and cadres are letting loose a reign of terror there,'' he told newspersons here.
He said, ''We want industry in the state and the Jindal Group is investing for the interest of Bengal and not for the CPI(M), but the ruling party is creating violence in the area for taking credit. '' ''We have already sent a letter to Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee for controlling his party leaders and cadres. If he fails to control the situation in the area, it will be another Singur or Nandigram,'' Mr Bhunia warned.
He also said the party would chalk out its future course of action, if Mr Bhattacharjee did not control his party leaders within two or three days.
