Take-up Ram Mandir issue: PS to RSS, VHP

Thane, Oct 28: The issue of construction of Ram Mandir at Ayodhya, which had stirred a sensation some years ago, has resurfaced with the Bhagwan Parshuram Sena urging the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) to take up the issue to a logical end.

In a memorandum to the RSS leader K Sudarshan, founder president of the Parshuram Sena Om Prakash Sharma has stated that the forgotten issue of the construction of the Ram Mandir should be revived and the temple should be constructed at its original site at any cost.

He has also sent a copy to Ashok Singhal, International President of the VHP.

In the memorandum, Mr Sharma has said, ''We are surrounded by enimical forces from all corners. There is an external and iternal threat. Ram is revered by one and all. Construction of Ram Mandir alone can bring majority of people into the mainstream of social life.

''Construction of the Ram Temple at Ayodhya should not be a political vehicle for coming to power. It is a social cause and should be respected by one and all. It will be possible only by mass awakening. I am sure that if the cause of construction of Ram Temple is taken up by the VHP with the support of the RSS, there will be tremendous response from the people of this country,'' he added.

He has stated that over five crore devotees of Bhagwan Parshuram and the Parshuram Sena are awaiting to see the day when the temple will be constructed at Ayodhya and a befitting tribute to the lakhs, who had sacrificed their lives as 'kar sevaks' in the agitation for the construction of the Temple.

''We are hurt over the fact that the BJP came to power under the pretext of construction of the Ram Temple, which remained a false promise and a time has now come to act,'' he said.

''We have lost faith in the BJP. Hence, we want the non-political organisations such as the RSS and the VHP to take up the issue and intensify the agitation for the construction of the temple. We will give our full support to the cause,'' declared Mr Sharma, who had led of one of the batches of 'kar sevaks' that went to Ayodhya during the Ram temple agitation.

''The only desire of the lakhs of sadhus and the family of the ''kar sevaks'' who had laid down their lives for the cause, is that the Ram Mandir should come through at any cost.

''I am not not advocating divisive politics but only expressing the sentiments of crores of devotees of Bhagwan Parshuram,'' he added.

The Bhagawan Parshuram Sena, blessed by the Shankaracharya of Kashi Sumeru Peethadeeshwar Jagadguru Shankaracharya Narendranand Saraswati and Swami Madhav Ashramji Maharaj of Badrika Ashram, Badrinath Kedarnath, was formed with the sole intention of propagating the work of Hindu religion.
