Outrage at pregnant Pak woman being thrown to the dogs in "honour killing"

Islamabad, Oct 28 : The Pakistan Senate has reportedly condemned the alleged 'honour killing' of a girl in Sindh by her father-in-law, while charging that the child was illegitimate.

In the horrifying incident, the 17-year-old Taslim Solangi, who was eight-month pregnant who was thrown to dogs and was forced to give birth to her baby prematurely by her father-in-law.

Condemning incident, Senator Semeen Siddiqui demanded an inquiry into the incident.

PML-Q senators staged a token walkout in protest against the incident, while others joined the protest.

Condemning the incident, Leader of the House Raza Rabbani also said that he would take the House into confidence on the incident after getting information from the Sindh chief minister.

After the baby took prematurely birth, he was thrown into the nearby Ubhal Wah canal by the killer father-in-law.

Meanwhile, reports also suggest hit men had been dispatched to Karachi to kill the absconding mother of Taslim who had fled the village.

In Islamabad, President Asif Ali Zardari reacted sharply to the report of killing of the girl and asked lady MNA Nafeesa Shah to investigate the shocking event and submit him a report.

President's spokesman Farhatullah Babar said that he was greatly disturbed over the incident and had immediately asked Nafeesa Shah to investigate the matter.
