Nitish Kumar demands CBI or judicial probe into Rahul Raj's murder
Patna, Oct 28 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today demanded a CBI or Judicial probe by a sitting judge into the killing of Rahul Raj Prasad by Mumbai police yesterday.
Speaking to newspersons after meeting the parents of Rahul at his Kadamkuan residence here, the Chief Minister described the shooting down of the 25-year-old para-medical student from Bihar inside the BEST bus in Mumbai by the police as ''barbaric and cowardly''.
He was accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, Heath Minister Nand Kishore Yadav and DGP D N Gautam.
Expressing concern at the growing incidents of attacks on Bihari students in Maharashtra, the Chief Minister, who led an all-party delegation to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in New Delhi yesterday, said they had sought immediate intervention of the Prime Minister into the whole episode and demanded stern action against Raj Thackeray and banning of the MNS because of their alleged anti-national activities.
''The Prime Minister had promised us to deliver justice and that too very soon,'' Mr Kumar said and urged the people to remain calm and not resort to any further violence as he hoped that the truth would surely come out from a CBI or a judicial probe.
