''Forces need to maintain pressure, moral ascendancy over militants
Jammu, Oct 28 (UNI) Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir need to maintain continuous pressure and moral ascendancy over the militants, who have, by and large been marginalised, a senior army official said.
Lt Gen R K Swamy, GOC XVI 'White Knight' Corps, who chaired the meeting of the Core Group to review security situation in Jammu yesterday, further emphasised that coming few months are crucial in view of the conduct of Assembly elections and forces need to be extra vigilant to defeat the designs of anti national elements and ensure smooth conduct of the election process.
The meeting, which held here at the Corps Headquarters, Nagrota, reviewed the security situation in Jammu in light of forthcoming 'darbar move' and assembly elections.
Senior civil, police, paramilitary force and army officers attended the meeting.
