Panaji, Oct 28 (UNI) A second half brace by Nigerian Odafe Okolie enabled hot contenders Churchill Brothers to trounce Raia Sporting club 2-0 in the Vodafone GFA Professional football league championship match, played at Tilak Ground Vasco in South Goa today.
After a barren first half, both the goals for Churchill came in the 64th and 76th minute. With today's win, Churchill Brothers remained at the top of the table with 28 points from 10 outings, 9 wins and a draw. While Raia sporting ramined on same 6 points from as many matches.
In the other match played at Duler ground Mapusa, Dempo sports club humbled Vasco Sports club by 4-1.
Dempo moved ahead as early as in the 15th minute of the first half through Joaquim Abranches. But the lead was short lived when Vasco restored parity through Beranrd Pires in the 27th minute of the first half and level the score 1-1.
After cross over, Dempo regrouped themselves well and pumped in three more goals though Peter Carvalho in the 70th minute, samson Feranandes in the 75th minute and Ambranches in the 90th minute (his brace) and Dempo won the match by 4-1.
