Kargil, Oct 27 (UNI) Qamar Ali Akhoon and Feroz Khan today filed their nomination papers from Kargil and Zanaskar Assembly segments as National Conference (NC) candidates after their names were cleared by the party.
NC president Omar Abdullah, former minister Abdul Rahim Rather, Devender Singh Rana and Ghulam Hassan Khan were present when they filed their papers.
Later, addressing NC workers Mr Abdullah said the coalition experiment has failed in Jammu and Kashmir.
He said the coalition government which was a conglomerate of political parties and individuals with divergent ideologies were only bonded by their desire to be in power and so ignored the matters of the state for their own petty vested interests thereby causing sufferings to the people of the state.
He said the need of the hour is a stable one party government to steer the state out of the administrative morass created by the PDP-Congress coalition government.
