Mother, son in post-mortem room
Surat, Oct 27 (UNI) It seems the bond between a 50-year-old man, who had gone missing few days ago and was found dead in mysterious circumstances yesterday, and his 70-year-old mother, who was killed by unidentified persons at their residence, brought them together in the morgue of the city's civil hospital.
Police today said they could ascertain the identity of the man after the body of his 70-year-old mother was brought in the civil hospital's morgue for post-mortem.
Police have identified the man as Devendra Panwala, a daily collection worker who was missing for the last three days.
As per the information, the brother of Devendra reached his house located in Din Dayal society in Palanpur Patia, the city's outskirts, after learning that he had gone missing.
When he entered the house, he was shocked to find his mother Jaymati Panwala lying in a pool of blood and the entire room was ransacked.
According to the complaint, some unidentified miscreants had allegedly killed Jaymati and robbed gold ornaments and cash worth Rs three lakh.
Police said Jaymati was brought to New Civil Hospital for post-mortem, where the body of Devendra was kept for post-mortem.
During investigation, it was found that Devendra's body was traced from a rivulet (malgam) with injury marks on his neck. The reason behind his death is still not known. Devendra had divorced his wife a few years ago.
The mystery behind both deaths is still unresolved, with police investigating these cases.
