Malegaon-revelations horrifying: Congress
New Delhi, Oct 27 (UNI) The Congress today described as "horribly horrifying" the revelation of the Maharashtra Police about the involvement of a Hindu organisation in the Malegaon and Modasa terror blasts on September 29, and said it was the worst form of terrorism as those involved were activists of political movement of a mainstream political party, the BJP.
"The investigations into Malegaon and Modasa are not only terrifying because they involve terrorism, but also they are horribly horifying because they involve and implicate almost every limb and part of the BJP," AICC Spokesman Abishek Manu Singhvi told mediapersons.
He said Pragya Singh, who was arrested by the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorist Squad as part of the investigations, had admittedly been active member of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidhyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the student wing of the BJP.
Referring to a photograph published by newspapers showing Pragya Singh in the company of prominent BJP leders, he said it was recent photograph and could not be dismissed as just a public photograph of BJP leaders with the general public.
"It is a special photograph of a close and tightly knit group inside a small room with only high ranking persons lke Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, BJP President Rajnath Singh, besides Pragya Singh," he said, adding that "this is the photograph of a special circle of trust, an intimate and exclusive circle of trust." He said the direct links of fundamentalists and extremists at Pune, Nagpur and at the Military school raised the fundamental issue of the thinking and philosophy of the entire Sangh organisation which is exclusivist, divisive, anti-minority, anti-Gandhi and anti-Indian ethos.
In this context, he charged the BJP and all its associates of deliberately camouflaging and disguising their communal and divisive philosophies in the false idiom of "cultural nationalism" to deceive the nation and to cling to power.
