LG, CM, Malhotra greet people on Diwali
New Delhi, Oct 27 (UNI) Delhi's Lt Governor Tejendra Khanna, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and BJP's chief ministerial candidate V K Malhotra today extended greetings to citizens of the national capital on the occasion of Diwali.
In his message, the Lt Governor said, '' On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, I convey my warm greetings and good wishes to the citizens of the capital. May this year's festival inspire the people to develop good spirit by negating the negative thoughts in them, as it will create a peaceful environment in the society.'' Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit in her message expressed confidence that the festival of lights will bring prosperity and happiness.
She also exhorted people to avoid crackers to curb pollution.
Greeting the people on Diwali, Prof Malhotra expressed hope that the dark forces of disunity, disparities and despondency brought about by the present regime would be dispelled and a new dawn of sincere efforts aimed at development and progress appear on the horizon.
He promised that he and the BJP will come down with a heavy hand on the terrorist forces, all round lethargy and corruption. No effort will be spared in taking corrective measures to make the life of all citizens as comfortable and hassles free as possible.
