BSNL registers 85,000 new subscribers
Bangalore, Oct 27 (UNI) BSNL Bangalore Telecom District has registered 85,000 new landline subscribers in the last six months compared to the six months period of the previous year.
Talking to newspersons here today Principal General Manager Shubendhu Ghosh said there was about two lakh broadband subscribers out of the total of nine lakh land line subscribers.
The department planned to increase the broadband connections from the present 30 per cent to 50 per cent in future, he added.
Mr Ghosh said the Bangalore region registered new landline connection at an average of 14,000 a month.
He also announced a slew of offers from the department for landline, broadband and mobile users on the occasion of Diwali and Rajyostava Day for the people in the city and its surrounding areas under its jurisdiction.
